Ongelmien keskellä, taas - Within problems, again

Taas on vierähtänyt aikaa edellisestä merkinnästäni. Syinä siihen ovat yhtäältä motivaation puute bloggaamiseen ja toisaalta tietokoneiden kanssa olleet ongelmat; mm. käyttöjärjestelmävika. Arboretum-projektin parissa en myöskään ole puuhannut, joten siitä ei ole vielä uutta kerrottavaa. Valokuvaamista olen tehnyt kuitenkin edelleen ahkerasti ja nyt tulevana viikonloppuna tietokoneongelmien häivyttyä yritän taas julkaista kuvia blogitrilogiaan liittyen.

Viime viikon alussa olin myös työpaikkani Viroon suuntautuneella reissulla. Tein siellä muutamia mielenkiintoisia havaintoja ympäristöstä verrattuna Suomeen. Kerron niistä sitten, kun kerkeän.

Lopuksi mainitsen vielä kasvukauden tilanteesta täällä Etelä-Suomessa. Viime viikon hellejakso sai kasvien kasvun n. kaksi viikkoa edelle tavanomaisesta aikataulusta. Tämä merkitsi mm. juhannusruusun (Rosa pimpinellifolia "Plena") täyttä kukintaa viime viikolla. Nyt on menossa viileämpi jakso ajoittaisine sateineen. Lämpötilat ovat kuitenkin lähellä ajankohdan tavanomaisia arvoja; päivisin n. +20 astetta (pilvisessä tilanteessa n. +15 astetta) ja öisin n. +10 astetta. Pääkaupungin ympäristössä sadetta on tullut kesäkuun aikana tähän mennessä hyvin vähän, joten kuivuus on jo alkanut paikoin vaivaamaan. Runsaitakin sateita olisi onneksi tulossa muutaman lähipäivän aikana...


There have passed time again since my last post. The reasons for this are in one hand a lack of motivation to the blogging and on the other hand problems with the computers; a fault in the operating system amongst others. I also haven't been working with the arboretum project, so there aren't any new things to tell about yet. However i have done photographing further hard and now at the coming weekend as the problems with the computers have disappeared i'll try to publish photos again associating with the blog trilogy.

At the beginning of the last week i was also on my work place's trip to Estonia. There i made some interesting observations about the environment as compared to Finland. I'll tell about them as soon as i have time.

To the end i mention about the situation of the growing season here in southern Finland. Last week's hot weather period made the growing of the plants to be about two weeks ahead of the average schedule. This meant for example a full blooming of Burnet Rose cultivar (Rosa pimpinellifolia "Plena") during the last week. Now there's ongoing a cool period with occasional precipitation. However the temperatures are near the usual values of the season; at daytime about +20 C (in cloudy situation about +15 C) and at nights about +10 C. Around the Helsinki area there have been very little rain during June up to this moment, so drought has allready started to appear locally. Fortunately there would be coming heavy precipitation as well during the next few days...
