Varoitus lauantain myrskystä! - A warning of the saturday's storm!

Tämän päivän kirjoitukset täydennän vielä huomautuksella lauantain lännestä saapuvasta myrskystä. Pauli on taas kertonut ansiokkaasti tulevista tapahtumista. Näyttää siltä, että tuuli voi aiheuttaa jopa paljon tuhoa lauantain aikana Suomen lisäksi muuallakin Skandinaviassa ja Baltian maissa. Myös Irlanti, Skotlanti ja pohjoinen Englanti ovat vaaravyöhykkeessä aikaisemmin perjantaina. Merenpinnan nousuun on myös syytä varautua. Samalla runsas sadealue saapuu Suomeen, mutta Etelä-Suomessa sade tulee lähinnä vetenä; tulvien riski. Niinpä ei voida puhua lumimyrskystä täällä (Keski-Suomessa voidaan). Lauantain jälkeen tosin kylmenee hitaasti ja tulevan viikon alussa on pitkästä aikaa heikkoa pakkasta myös eteläisimmässä Suomessa. Jonkinlainen ohut lumipeitekin saattaa tulla. Näyttää kuitenkin siltä, että totuttuun tapaan talvi ei onnistu nytkään tulemaan kunnolla. Alkuviikon jälkeen voimakkaat ja hyvin leudot länsi - lounaistuulet näyttävät ottavan taas tuhdin otteen...


I add this day's writings yet with a notification of the storm arriving from the west at saturday. Pauli has again told (unfortunately in finnish, but with pictures) about coming happenings deservingly. It looks like the way, that the wind may cause even a lot of damage during saturday elsewhere in Skandinavia and the Baltic countries as well in addition to Finland. The danger zone includes also Ireland, Scotland and northern England earlier during friday. There is a reason also to get ready for a rise of the sea level. At the same time a profuse precipitation area will come to Finland, but in southern Finland the precipitation will come mainly as rain; a risk of floods. Therefore it cannot be called a blizzard over here (in central Finland it can). Though, after saturday it will become slowly colder and at the beginning of the coming week there will be weak frost after a long time also in the southernmost Finland. A some kind of thin snowcover might fall as well. However, it appears to be the case, that in the customed way winter doesn't have a chance to come properly even now. After the early week strong and very mild westerly - southwesterly winds appear to take a firm hold again...
