Olen nyt muuttanut kaikki blogini uusiin Google -versioihin. Sen mahdollistamana laitan jossakin vaiheessa nimilaput merkintöihini, mutta ennen sitä on paljon muuta puuhaa. Olen pohtimassa viime vuonna ottamieni kasvivalokuvieni julkaisemisstrategiaa tässä blogimaailmassa. Olen lopettanut toistaiseksi kasvikuvien julkaisemisen Flickr -sivuillani, mutta olen ladannut sinne kuviani koko ajan; jo yli 2000 kpl. Todennäköisesti tulevan kasvukauden aikana sarjajulkaisen jossakin määrin näitä kuviani.
Lisäksi harkitsen mahdollisuutta erottaa tämä blogi vain arboretumaiheeseeni ja julkaista kaikki muut kasviesittelyt ja niihin liittyvät asiat omassa blogissa ja / tai Flickr -sivuilla (?), joka (jotka) olisi ikään kuin kasvikuvakirja. Valitettavasti joudutte olemaan kanssani kärsivällisiä. Aihepiiri on kuitenkin osaltaan luonnostaan hidas ja pitkäjänteinen ja tehtävää on jopa useaksi vuodeksi :) Monet kuvistani ovat myös joka tapauksessa luonteeltaan ajattomia, joten tavallaan mitä väliä silloin on julkaisun ajankohdalla..? Em. takia saatan lähiaikoina poistaa tästä blogista vanhoja merkintöjä, koska siirrän niitä uuteen ympäristöön ja samalla voin muuttaa niitä.
Viime viikon pakkasista totean lopuksi, että onneksi monilla eteläisen Suomen alueilla kaikkein kylmimmät ennusteet jäivät toteutumatta. Esim. Helsingissä oli kylmimmillään vain n. -20 astetta ja pari astetta alle. Toisaalta paikoin sisämaassa oli hurjan kylmää, kuten Hämeenlinnassa -30 asteesta jopa -35 asteen tienoille paikasta riippuen. Tämä takia tulevana keväänä ja kesänä joillakin kasveilla tulee näkymään tuhoeroja etelärannikon ja joidenkin sisämaa-alueiden välillä Etelä-Suomessa. Onneksi arboretumini kasvit eivät olleet kylmimmillä alueilla...
I have now transformed all my blogs into new Google -versions. As made possible by that i will add labels into my posts at some point, but there are a lot of other things to be done before that. I'm thinking about a publishing strategy within this blog world concerning the plant photos i captured last year. I have stopped publishing plant photos in my Flickr pages for now, but i have added continuously pictures there; allready more than 2000 pieces. Propably during the coming growing season i will serial publish these pictures in some degree.
In addition to that i'm thinking about a possibility to divide this blog into my arboretum theme only and publish all other plant presentations and matters associated with them in their own blog and / or Flickr pages (?), what (which) would be like a photo book of plants. Unfortunately you are forced to be patient with me. However the subject matter is naturally slow and sustained and there are tasks to be done in amounts worth of many years :) Many of my pictures are in any case timeless in nature, so in that case what difference there is then in a way with the time of the publishing..? Due to the mentioned i might remove some old posts from this blog in the near future, because i will move them into a new environment and i can transform them (at the same time i will also translate them in english) at the same time.
To the end i mention about the frosts of the last week, that fortunately in many areas in southern Finland the coldest forecasts didn't come true. For example in Helsinki there was only -20 C and a couple of degrees under at the coldest. On the other hand there was locally very cold in inland areas, like in Hämeenlinna where there was from -30 C to even about -35 C depending of the place. Due to this during the coming spring and summer there will be visible in some plants damage differences between southern coast and some inland areas in southern Finland. Fortunately plants of my arboretum weren't in the coldest areas...
